SEBI (Security Exchange Board of India) is established in the year 1992 in accordance with the provisions of Securities and Exchange Board of India Act 1992. The preamble describes the basic functions of the securities and the exchange board in order to protect the interests of investors in securities and development. It acts as the regulator of the Indian Capital Markets and performs the triple functions as quasi-legislative, quasi-judicial, and quasi-executive body. In addition SEBI exercises the powers conferred upon it such as the Securities Contract Act 1956, Depositories Act 1996, and the Companies Act 2013.

SEBI has announced the notification for recruitment of Assistant Managers- Officers Grade A vacancies. The eligible candidates who are interested in the vacancy details can read the below notification and Apply Online. The last date of online application has been extended to 31st October 2020 due to COVID outbreak. It is a golden chance for the candidates who have not enrolled themselves can apply online. According to a recent notice that has been released by SEBI that “the revised dates for Phase I and Phase II examination shall be informed to the candidates in short time on its official website. Therefore candidates are requested to visit the official website www.sebi.gov.in.

Age Limit (as on 29-02-2020)

  • Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years.
  • Relaxation of 5 years to the SC/ST candidates.
  • Relaxation of 3 years to the OBC candidates.

Application Fees:

  • UR/ OBC/ EWS Candidates: Rs. 1000/- + Intimation Charges
  • SC/ ST/ PwBD: Rs. 100/- + Intimation Charges

Note: Candidates are also permitted for maximum of 2 streams if they are eligible to apply and requisite fees to be paid for each application.

Note: Candidates who have appeared in their final examination and are waiting for the results may also apply for Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III selection process. However at the time of document verification, the candidate has to produce the document as a matter of evidence.

Mode of Selection:

The procedure for selection is decided in three phases i.e.

  1. Phase I: Online Screening Examination
  2. Phase II: Online Screening Examination
  3. Phase III: Interview Process

The online screening examination will consist of two papers (MCQ’s of 100 Marks each). Here are list the list of subjects mentioned below.

Negative Marking: There will be negative marking of 1/4 for Paper I and Paper II in Phase I. There will be no sectional cut-off for Paper I and a cut-off of minimum 40% for Paper II in Phase I.

Interview Process: Only the shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The application fees will not be refunded to the candidates who have not been selected in Phase II or the Interview. Candidates have the provision to opt for the interview either in Hindi or English. Weightage of marks obtained in Phase II will be 85% while the marks obtained in the interview will be given a weightage of 15%.
